The Unrolled Ball of Yarn

Misty sat under the tall tree near the pond playing with her new ball of yard her new friends gave her for her birthday. She was very proud of her new gift.

“Do you like it, Misty?” asked Booker-T.

“It is so nice Booker-T,” smiled Misty. “I was really surprised. I like it very much. I will take it home with me when we go.”

“We are all glad to have you as our friend,” said Midge.

A Surprise for Misty

“Hey Midge!” called Misty as she came strolling up the sidewalk to the front porch at Midge's house. “Are you here?”

“Hi Misty,” called Booker-T from across the fence. “What are you doing this morning?”

“Is Midge awake?” asked Misty.

“I think she has already gone to Jake's house,” said Booker-T. “You want to walk there with me? I am going now.”

The New Cat in Town

The sun was hot in the afternoon and Midge, Jake and their friends were sitting under the big tree near the pond. Snappy was splashing around in the water near the edge of the pond. “Come on in you guys,” called Snappy.

“You have fun Snappy,” said Midge. “I'm tired and going to rest a little here in this nice shade.”

“But the water is cool and you can cool off faster here in the water,” said Snappy.
