Midge and the Dive

"Hey Midge!" called Booker-T as he entered the room. "What are you doing?"

"Hi Booker-T." greeted Midge. "I'm going for a dive."

"A dive?" asked Booker-T. "What is a dive?"

"I'm going to dive into the water and swim under water," said Midge.

"But you can't breathe under water," said Snappy.

"You swim under the water," said Midge.

"I have to come up for air," said Snappy. "I only go under the water for short times."

"How do the humans go under water for long times?" asked Midge.

"I don't know," said Booker-T. "Maybe they can breathe under water."

The Missing Bone

Midge woke up when her owner got out of bed and went to the kitchen. Midge stretched and looked around for her little chew bone. She looked under the bed, in her little bed that sat in the corner of the bedroom and found no bone. She leaped back onto the bed and pushed her nose around in the blankets and found no bone. She ran to the living room and was looking under the sofa and the chairs and again there was no bone.

"Hi Midge," said Snappy. "What are you looking for?"

"I had a doggie chew bone last night," said Midge. "I lost it."

"Maybe you ate it," laughed Snappy.

Race Cars

"Hey Midge!" called Gabby as he flew down and landed on the porch railing..

"Hi Gabby," said Midge. "What are you doing this morning?"

"Where is Jake and Booker-T?" asked Gabby.

"At home," smiled Midge.

"Are they coming to your house?" asked Gabby.

"I think so," said Midge. "What are you so excited about?"

"I just flew over the school on my way here and guess what I saw," said Gabby.

"Did the space alien finally land?" asked Midge.

"No," laughed Gabby. "You are always looking for space aliens. You are so funny."

The Little Stories

"Hi there, Midge," greeted Jake as he and Booker-T entered the front yard and walked to the porch where Midge was sitting there staring into space.

"Hey Midge," said Booker-T. "What are you doing? Hey!"

"Oh, hi," smiled Midge.

"What are you thinking about?" asked Jake. "You looked like you were off in another place."

"Did you know there was a woman who lived in a shoe?" asked Midge.

"How can a woman live in a shoe?" asked Booker-T. "They are too small."
