Midge and the Dive

“Hey Jake!” called Booker-T as he and Midge entered Jake’s yard.

“Hey Jake!” called Midge. “Where are you?”

“I’m back here!” called Jake as he came around the side of the house to join Midge and Booker-T.

“What are you doing?” asked Midge.

“I was eating my breakfast,” said Jake. “You are early. What is going on today?”

“Oh Jake,” said Booker-T shaking his head. “You won’t believe what Midge wants to do now?”

“What does she want to do now?” asked Jake.

“You don’t want to ask that,” said Booker-T.

The Young Man at the Pond

 “Dabba dabba doo,” sang Jake as he strolled along the sidewalk going to Midge's house. “Dabba dabba doo.”

“Hey Jake,” said Booker-T as he came through the gate as Jake was passing his house.

“Hi Booker-T,” said Jake.

“Are you going to see Snappy?” asked Booker-T.

“Yes,” said Jake. “Come on lets go see him before we go to the park.”

Booker-T joined Jake to walk over to Midge's house. “What were you singing?”

“I think it was from a cartoon my owner was watching the other day,” said Jake. “But that is all I know. Dabba Dabba Doo.”

“Funny,” laughed Booker-T.

Going to the Rodeo

 “Hey Midge!” called Jake as he ran through the gate.

“Hi Jake,” said Midge. “You are sure in a hurry this morning.”

“Did you hear?” asked Jake.

“Hear what?” asked Midge. “Slow down.”

“The rodeo is in town tomorrow,” said Jake.

“The rodeo?” asked Booker-T as he came into the yard to join Jake and Midge.

“Yes,” said Jake. “The rodeo.”

“What is a rodeo,” asked Booker-T.

“It is these guys riding bulls and horses and chasing cows,” said Jake.

“It is really exciting Booker-T,” smiled Midge. “Jake and I went to see what it was one time.”

“Do you want to go see?” asked Jake.

Midge and the Songs

“She'll be coming around the mountain when she comes,” sang Midge as she strolled along the sidewalk with Booker-T heading to Jake's house.

“Who is coming around the mountain?” asked Gabby as he swooped down close to them as they walked.

“Hi Gabby,” said Midge. “What are you doing?”

“Looking for you,” said Gabby. “Hi you two. Where is Jake?”

“Hi Gabby,” greeted Booker-T. “Jake is at home. We are going there now.”

“So, who is going to be coming around what mountain?” asked Gabby. “Do I know who it is?”

“I don't think so Gabby,” said Midge. “I don't know who it is either.”

Making a Sandcastle

“Hey Jake!” called Midge as she and Booker-T went through the gate at Jake's house. “Where are you?”

“Hey Jake!” called Booker-T.

They stood staring at the front door and Jake didn't reply back to them.

“Do you think he is still inside sleeping?” asked Booker-T.

“Maybe,” said Midge. “Lets go inside through his doggie door and check up on him.”

They started to go to the backyard when Jake came around the corner.

“Hi you guys,” greeted Jake. “When did you get here?”

“A few minutes ago,” said Midge. “Did you hear us calling you?”
