Forever Rain
Midge sat on her
front porch watching the rain as it poured down from above. Booker-T
ran into the yard and hurried to the porch where Midge sat.
“What are
you doing?” asked Booker-T.
“Sitting
here watching the rain falling,” sighed Midge. “What are you
doing out in it?”
“Don't
you like to go walking in the rain?” asked Booker-T.
“I do
too,” said Midge. “I want the rain to go away. Where is the
sun?”
“Rain
rain,” said Booker-T. “Go away. Come again another day.”
“How
cute,” smiled Midge.
“Little
Midge wants to play,” sang Booker-T.
“Did you
just make that up?” asked Midge.

The Lost Bone
Midge
was running around the house looking under the furniture and in the
corners.
“What
are you looking for Midge?” asked Snappy.
“Do you
know where I put my bone?” asked Midge.
“No,”
said Snappy. “I didn't know you had a bone. Where did you see it
the last time?”
“I had
it two days ago,” said Midge. “I was laying here on the floor
and chewing on it.”
“Did
you finish the bone?” asked Snappy.
“I
don't think so,” said Midge.
“Maybe
your owner picked it up if you left it on the floor,” suggested
Snappy. “She is always cleaning the house.”
“I don't
know,” said Midge. “Do you think she would throw it away?”

The Sausage Man
Midge and Jake
skipped along the sidewalk on their way to Jake's house. They
hurried across the street and ran through the gate. Jake was
sleeping on the front porch swing.
“Hi there
Jake!” called Midge as she got to the porch. “What are you
doing?”
“I was
napping,” said Jake.
“Did you
sleep last night?” asked Booker-T.
“I
slept,” said Jake. “I was just resting my eyes while I waited
for you two to get here.”
“Today is
the last day of the fair,” said Midge. “Lets go check out the
food.”

The Plan
Jake hurried to
Midge's house so they could go back to the fair. He poked his head
through her doggie door and looked around the kitchen.. “Midge!”
called Jake. “Where are you?”
“Hi Jake,”
said Midge as she ran into the kitchen.
“Hey
Midge,” said Jake. “You look nice with your bows in your ears.”
“Do you
like my pink bows?” asked Midge.
“They are
nice,” said Jake. “Why are you wearing your bows today? We are
going to the fair, aren't we?'
