Jake, Midge and
Booker-T Strolled along the sidewalk with Gypsy following behind
them. Midge started to sing a little song.
"Row,
row, row your boat gently down the stream," sang Midge.
"Why are
you singing about rowing a boat?" asked Gypsy. "Are we
going to take a boat ride?"
"She just
likes to sing," smiled Jake. "When her owner has her
little niece over, Midge likes the little songs she sings.
"She
likes to dance too," laughed Booker-T.
"You can
dance Midge?" asked Gypsy.
"She
does pretty good," said Jake.
"Wow,"
said Gypsy. "Will you teach me to dance?"
"Sure,"
said Midge. "I can teach you."
Gabby flew
down from above and landed on top of Jake's head.
"Where
are you guys going," asked Gabby.
"Hey
Gabby," said Jake. "We are going to take Gypsy to the
little zoo building and see what animals are there today. Want to
come along?"
"Did you
know they above a car show in the field behind the zoo building
today?" asked Gabby. "Do you want to check out the old
cars?"
"We see
cars on the roads every day," said Jake.
"These
are different," said Gabby. "You don't see these on the
roads."
"Why?"
asked Midge.
"These
are old cars from long time ago," said Gabby. "I saw one
today that was from 1908 year. They really look different."
"Do you
want to go see them?" asked Jake. "We can see the zoo at
the same time. They are both in the same area."
"Lets go
see the cars," said Booker-T. "Jake is right. We can see
both of them."
"Okay,"
said Midge and Jake. "Lets go check them out. Come on Gypsy."
They walked
to the zoo as Gabby flew above them.
"Hey
Jake," said Midge. "Look at all the people over there."
"Lets go
see," said Jake as he started to hurry along the sidewalk. He
looked both ways and they all ran across the street to the parking
lot of the zoo building.
When they
walked to the back of the zoo building, they saw about 15 or 20 cars
lined up in the field. The sign said there were cars from 1886
through 1960.
"Look at
that car over there," said Midge. "It has no roof or doors
on it. How do you ride in it when it rains?"
"Maybe
they stayed home when it rained," suggested Gypsy.
"But if
they went to work," said Jake. "The had to get wet going
there."
"Maybe
they rode in the car carrying an umbrella over them," suggested
Booker-T.
"That
would be funny," laughed Gypsy. "Going down the street
holding an umbrella."
"That
would really be funny," said Booker-T. "All these cars
going down the street with umbrellas."
"I'm
glad we didn't live back that year," said Jake.
"Look at
that one, Jake," said Midge. "It has wood on it. Wow, they
made cars with wood."
"The
sign says it is a woody," said Jake.
"I never
heard of a Woody car," laughed Midge. "These old cars are
neat looking."
"What
kind of car is that one over there, Jake?" asked Booker-T.
Jake read the
sign. "It says it is a 1966 Batmobile."
"What is
a batmobile?" asked Midge. "Do bats ride in them?"
"It says
on the sign that it is from a movie called Batman," said Jake.
"It says that this one is the only one ever made."
"Only
one?" asked Midge.
"Wow,"
said Booker-T. "Whoever owned it had one of a kind. That's
cool."
"These
are really different from the ones we see every day," said Jake.
"I like
them," said Booker-T.
"Me
too," said Gypsy.
"Now
lets go inside the zoo and see who is there," said Midge.
