The Living Teddy Bear

 

    “Look at the teddy bear,” said Lucy as she walked toward the back cage. “Isn't he cute.  My owner's little girl has a teddy bear that looks like this.”

    “He's a living teddy bear” laughed Midge.  “I think he is sleeping.”

    “The paper on the cage door says he is a Koala bear,” read Jake.

   “I think he looks like a teddy bear,” said Lucy.  “I think my owner's little girl would like to have a living teddy bear.”

   “I think the little humans like teddy bears,” said Midge.  “My owner's niece has one she carries with her all the time.  Her little teddy bear is brown.”

   “My owner's niece has one too,” said Jake.  "Her teddy bear is black and white. I think my owner called it a panda bear."

   “Why do they always have teddy bears?” asked Lucy. “Why not a nice doggy?”

   “I think that is a good question” said Midge.  “Do you know why Jake?”

    “I don't know,” said Jake.  “I think the humans always buy teddy bears.”

   “That's kind of sad,” said Midge.  “I never thought about that.  Lets go check out that big hippo.  The Koala bear is still sleeping. He must be really tired.”

The Baby Tiger

 

Midge and Booker-T were sitting on the front porch at Midge's house. Gabby flew down from the tree above and landed on the porch railing.

“Hi guys,” greeted Gabby. “What are you guys doing?”

“Just sitting here,” smiled Midge.

“Why?” asked Gabby.

“Why not?” asked Booker-T.

“I don't know,” sighed Gabby. “You guys are always doing something.”

“I know,” said Midge.

“Are you being lazy today?' asked Gabby.

Look What I Found

 

Midge followed her owner to the kitchen early in the morning and sat near her bowls waiting for breakfast. After feeding Midge and Snappy, she left for work. Midge jumped into the chair near Snappy's tank. She looked out the window and saw Booker-T and Jake walking along the sidewalk and coming through the front gate.

“Here comes Jake and Booker-T,” said Midge

“What are you guys going to do this morning?” asked Snappy.

“I don't know yet,” said Midge.

“Is Lucy going to play with you today?” asked Snappy.

“I think so,” said Midge.

“Hi Snappy,” greeted Booker-T as he entered the room followed by Jake. “Hi Midge.”

“Hey guys,” smiled Midge. “What are you doing?”

Should We Stay Home Today

 

Midge sat on the end of her owner's bed waiting for her to get ready for her work day. She always gave midge fresh water and food before she left the house. She jumped to the floor and followed her owner to the kitchen where her owner filled her blue bowl with food and her white bowl with fresh water. When she set them on to the food mat with Midge's name at the top, she patted Midge on the head. “There you are girl,” said Midge's owner. “I need to go into work early this morning. I'll see you later, girl.”

Lucy Goes to the Park

 

After taking Lucy to Jake's house and then to Midge and Booker-T's house, the three took Lucy to the park where they liked to play in the pond on warmer days. They told her about the little train that runs around the park.

“Come on Lucy,” said Midge. “Lets go ride the train around the park and you can see everything.”

“Will the humans let us ride the train?” asked Lucy.

Midge's Tales

 

“Hi guys,” greeted Gabby as he flew down from above and landed on the fence post near the barn.

“Hey there Gabby,” said Jake. “What are you doing?”

“I was flying around and saw you guys here at the farm,” said Gabby. “What are you doing?”

“We came to take Lucy to the park,” said Midge. “Did you forget? We are going to show her where we live also.”

“She looks a little like Midge,” smiled Gabby.  "Midge and Lucy are both the same kind of dog.”

“What kind of dog are we?” asked Lucy.

“They are more alike that you know,” laughed Booker-T. “Lucy is just like Midge.”

Another Midge

 

Midge ran out of the bedroom and leaped into the chair and pressed her nose against the glass of Snappy's tank.

“Hi Snappy!” smiled Midge.

“You look happy this morning,” said Snappy.

“I'm always happy,” said Midge.

“But this morning, you sound excited,” said Snappy. “What are you guys going to do today?”

“We are going to the farm to see Lucy,” said Midge. “And take her to the park if she wants to go.”

“I thought you met Lucy yesterday,” said Snappy.
