Midge and the Burglar

“Hey Jake!” said Midge as she came running up the sidewalk to the porch. “Jake! Jake!”
“Calm down Midge,” said Jake. “What is the hurry this morning? I'm right here.”
“Jake,” said Midge. “Tomorrow is the day for the dance show at the convention center. Are you still going to help me get in there? I want to be on that show.”
“I heard about it on the TV last night when my owner was watching the show,” said Jake. “It isn't the show that is going to be at the convention center.”
“Yes it is,” said Midge. “I know it is the show.”
“It is the show people but not the actual show,” said Jake.

Midge Wants to Dance

Booker-T crossed the yard and entered the gate at Midge's house. He stood just inside the gate and saw Midge on the front porch. She didn't see him enter the front yard. Booker-T just stood there watching her acting a little strange. He didn't know whether to call to her or just walk on up to the porch. He slowly started up the sidewalk. Midge looked up and saw him coming up the sidewalk toward the porch. “Hey there Booker-T!” called Midge.
“Hi Midge,” said Booker-T. “What are you doing? Are you all right?”
“I'm great,” said Midge.
“Are you sure you are all right?” asked Booker-T.

Midge Talks About Music

Midge and Booker-T stroll along the sidewalk to Jake's. “Are you awake Midge?” laughed Booker-T. “You haven't said much this morning and you are always talking.”
“I don't always talk,” said Midge. “Do I?”
“Oh yes,” said Booker-T. “You are like a magpie sometimes, chatter chatter chatter.”
“Ha ha,” said Midge. “You all talk too.”
“I'm kidding you,” laughed Booker-T. “You are always so happy and talking but this morning you haven't said much. Is everything okay Midge?”
“Oh yes,” said Midge. “Everything is great. I just have this song going through my head I heard my owner play last night when her friend came to the house for dinner.”

Jasper Visits Jake

“Hey Booker-T!” called Midge running up the steps to his house. “Where are you?”
“I'm here,” said Booker-T as he came running around the corner of the house. “I was in the back yard. What are you doing this morning?”
“I was on the way to Jake's house,” said Midge. “Want to come?”
“Sure,” said Booker-T. “How is Snappy this morning?”
“He is good,” said Midge. “He was eating when I left. Our owner cleaned out his tank last night and gave him fresh water. He just loves his new home and all the fresh water and good food he gets now.”
“That's good,” smiled Booker-T. “I was worried he might be lonely for the pond.”
