The Colored Birds

The three crossed the street and hurried to the entrance of the zoo building. Right inside the door, they saw many people standing around and heard someone talking. They stepped inside to see what was going on.

“There are a lot of people here, Jake,” said Midge. “What are they doing?”

They moved between a couple of little boys, pushing their way to the front of all the people. In the middle of the room stood a young man and woman and each was holding a very large colorful bird.

“Wow, Jake!” said Midge. “They are really pretty and very big.”

“What kind of birds are they?” asked Booker-T.

“That sign over there says they are Micky and Margo,” said Jake. “It says they are talking Macaw birds.”

“Are we Macaw too since we talk?” asked Midge.

The Rope

Midge, Jake and Booker-T strolled along the sidewalk on their way to the little zoo building where the zoo animals are on their way to different zoos. Midge stopped and was staring at something she saw in the back yard of a house nearby.

“What are you looking at?” asked Jake as he tried to see too.

“What is that over there?” asked Midge.

“I don't know what you are looking at,” said Jake.

“What do you see Midge?” asked Booker-T.

The Tin Cans

Jake hurried along the sidewalk on his way to Midge's house. In the road he saw a couple of cans laying near the curb with a rope attached. He leaned over and nudged them with his nose. He stood staring at them a few minutes, then picked up the rope and started walking as he drug the two cans behind him. Clang, clang, bang went the cans as they bounced along behind him. They were heavier than they looked. Clang clang clang went the cans as he entered the yard at Midge's house. On the front porch sat Midge and Booker-T.

“Hey Jake!” called Midge. “You are making a lot of noise this morning.”

Human For A Day

Midge walked to Booker-T's house singing “Bibiddi Bobiddi Boo. Put them together and what do you got?”

“Hey Midge,” called Booker-T. “What are you singing? What are you putting together?”

“I don't remember,” said Midge. “I remember if you put them together, you get Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo.”

“What is Bibbidi Boo or whatever it is you are singing?” asked Booker-T.

“It's Bibiddi Bobiddi Boo,” said Midge.

“Where did you hear that at?” asked Booker-T.

Halloween Fun

“Hey Midge!” called Jake as he hurried through the gate to Midge's house.

Booker -T was sitting on the porch with Midge.

“What are you two doing?” asked Jake.

“We were talking about all the kids who came to the house on Halloween night,” said Midge. “Did any come to your house?”

“A lot of them came and my owner had this big bowl of candy and she gave the kids candy when they came to the door,” said Jake.

“My house too,” said Booker-T. “I saw kids dressed like Superman, like a ghost, batman, a funny minion and lot more.”

“Did you wear a costume too?” asked Midge.

Forever Rain

Midge sat on her front porch watching the rain as it poured down from above. Booker-T ran into the yard and hurried to the porch where Midge sat.

“What are you doing?” asked Booker-T.

“Sitting here watching the rain falling,” sighed Midge. “What are you doing out in it?”

“Don't you like to go walking in the rain?” asked Booker-T.

“I do too,” said Midge. “I want the rain to go away. Where is the sun?”

“Rain rain,” said Booker-T. “Go away. Come again another day.”

“How cute,” smiled Midge.

“Little Midge wants to play,” sang Booker-T.

“Did you just make that up?” asked Midge.
